1. Nature of the work

RetroReel digitizes analog media sent by mail. Aging tape, records, and photographs can break, jam, shed binder, warp, or otherwise deteriorate during handling and playback. Successful recovery cannot be guaranteed. Originals are returned where possible; deteriorated media may no longer function afterward.

2. Copyright and permission

By submitting an order you confirm that you own the media, or that you have permission from the rights holder to have it copied. You will not send material you are not allowed to reproduce. RetroReel may refuse work that appears to violate copyright.

3. Illegal or prohibited content

Do not send media that contains illegal content. RetroReel may stop work, decline to return copies, and notify the appropriate authority if required by law.

4. Photographs and albums

Removing photographs from albums — especially glued-in photographs — can destroy the album or damage the prints. Extra charges apply for album work. If disassembly would be destructive, Philip may not reconstruct the album.

5. Estimates, invoices, and payment

Amounts shown on the website are estimates. After assessment, RetroReel issues a final invoice. Payment is due within 30 days by PayPal or e-transfer. Digital files and originals ship only after payment is received.

6. Unpaid or unclaimed media

If an invoice is unpaid, or finished work and originals are not claimed, RetroReel may treat the physical media as abandoned after 90 days from the invoice or notice date. Digital working copies are deleted after delivery or after that same unclaimed period, whichever applies. This policy may be refined; contact philipekroker@gmail.com if you need more time.

7. Unusual formats

Formats not listed on the price sheet may be accepted if you supply a player with composite video out (Yellow, Red and White RCA plugs) or S-Video out. Those jobs are quoted after the package is inspected. Functionality of the player is customer responsibility.
